iPhone 6 Sales Set New Record for Apple

The new model has sold more units in three days than any other model before it

Apple’s iPhone 6 is selling faster than any iPhone before it.

The company told AP that it sold more than 10 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models in just three days since the phones were released — record sales for a new model.

According to Apple, the company sold 9 million of the iPhone 5C and 5S models in the same time period last year.

The demand, CEO Tim Cook says, has exceeded Apple’s expectations.

Analysts had predicted 6.7 million units to be sold around the world when it was released on Friday in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

The iPhone 6 starts at $199, while the Plus starts at $499.
