ISIS Threatens Attack on Washington D.C. in New Video

“As we struck France in the center of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington,” a man warns

ISIS has threatened to attack Washington D.C. and various European countries in a new video released Monday.

Although the authenticity of the video has not yet been verified, Reuters reported that the video appeared on a site used by Islamic State to post its messages.

“We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day, God willing, like France’s and by God, as we struck France in the center of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington,” a man says.

The message was delivered by a man dressed in fatigues and a turban, identified as Al Ghareeb the Algerian in the subtitles.

ISIS claimed responsibility for the attacks in Paris that killed at least 129 people and wounded as many as 350 in a series of coordinated attacks at a soccer stadium, concert hall and other locations in the French capital.

In retaliation, French fighter jets launched raids in Syria and attacked the city of Raqqa, which is considered the Islamic State’s stronghold. Police raided the homes of suspected Islamist militants.

The French Defense Ministry said in a statement on Sunday that the air raid, in coordination with U.S. forces, was led by 12 French aircraft, including 10 fighter jets, and had destroyed two Islamic State targets in Raqqa.

The man in the video also threatened Europe with more attacks.

“I say to the European countries that we are coming, coming with booby traps and explosives, coming with explosive belts and (gun) silencers and you will be unable to stop us because today we are much stronger than before,” he said.
