Paramount's adventure film reboot also stars Kevin Costner
Chris Pine and those piercing blue eyes are about to fill the biggest of screens.
Paramount Pictures’ adventure film “Jack Ryan” will get an IMAX release on Jan. 17, the big screen company said Tuesday.
The film stars Pine as C.I.A. analyst Jack Ryan, a role previously played by Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Alec Baldwin. The film finds the hero of Tom Clancy's novels trying to unravel a massive terrorist plot in Moscow.
“Tom Clancy was one of the most gifted tellers of thrilling espionage-themed stories we have ever known,” Greg Foster, CEO of IMAX Entertainment and senior executive vice president of IMAX Corp., said in a statement.”We believe that the combination of his truly iconic Jack Ryan character with this stellar cast and the immersive IMAX format will provide moviegoers with a can't miss joy ride.”
“Jack Ryan” was originally slated for release on Dec. 25, 2013, but was moved to Martin Luther King Day after Paramount pushed “Wolf of Wall Street” from November to the holiday season. The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh, who also co-stars along with Kevin Costner and Keira Knightley.
