Jack White to Score Disney’s ‘Lone Ranger’

Former White Stripes frontman Jack White to write, perform and produce music for Armie Hammer/Johnny Depp film

Jack White is teaming up with that masked stranger. At least on a musical level.

Former White Stripes frontman White will write, produce and perform the score for Walt Disney Studios' upcoming film "The Lone Ranger," Disney announced at the CinemaCon convention Tuesday.

The film, directed by Gore Verbinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, stars Armie Hammer as the titular masked lawman and Johnny Depp as his faithful sidekick Tonto.

White released his debut solo album, "Blunderbuss," on Tuesday.

"The Lone Ranger" is slated for a May 31, 2013 release.
