James Comey’s Testimony Pulled a Grip of Facebook Views

Take a guess on how many views James Comey’s testimony had on Facebook

After seeing the amount of eyeballs he can pull, Hollywood agents will be lining up to sign former FBI Director James Comey following his testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday.

Comey was the dominant conversation on social media yesterday, and the numbers back it up; his testimony drew a whooping 89 million views worldwide on Facebook, according to a Facebook spokesperson.

The spokesperson was unable to share how many Facebook views President Trump’s inauguration had in January. But for comparison’s sake, this year’s Academy Awards pulled 112 million views. And if it wasn’t for Warren Beatty, I’m betting Comey would’ve beat the Oscars.

Altogether, the spectacle had more than eight million comments, reactions, and shares on Facebook.

The testimony rankled President Trump; he held back on tweeting about it yesterday, but fired off a tweet this morning saying “despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication…and WOW, Comey is a leaker!”

Earlier this year, a “Rings” prank video set Facebook’s record for most views in a 24 hour period, with an obscene 200 million views.
