James Corden played the former lead singer of 5 Seconds of Summer in a new sketch on Monday’s “The Late Late Show.”
In the sketch, Corden is convinced that he is carrying the weight of the Australian pop punk band on his shoulders, while the other members can’t wait to get rid of him.
“I look at them as brothers,” Corden says. “And they look at me the way Julia Roberts looks at Richard Gere in ‘Pretty Woman’ — ‘You saved me.’”
Things finally come to a head when the band holds a meeting and tells Corden that he is being kicked out of the band. To say he takes it poorly is an understatement. But he gathers himself up, steals a few things from Calum’s house, and moves on with his life.
