Italian courts have identified the man who stole a $3,000 Rolex watch off the body of actor James Gandolfini.

The Daily Beast reports Claudio Bevilacqua was brought before a judge in Rome this week on charges of aggravated robbery.

Bevilacqua was a paramedic and ambulance driver who responded to Gandolfini’s heart attack at the Boscolo Exedera Hotel in Rome in June 2013.

Police believe the paramedic slipped the Rolex Submariner off the “Sopranos” actor’s wrist as he was checking for his pulse.

Gandolfini was alive when he was transported to the local hospital, but died shortly after.

Bevilacqua is not being charged on any counts of medical malpractice, and authorities do not believe the theft in any way impaired medical professionals in treating the victim.

The trial begins in November.
