She will play overachiever Helen Stephens, who is wrongfully convicted of murdering her boss
Jane Krakowski has been cast as the lead in Fox's half-hour comedy pilot, “Dead Boss.”
Krakowski is best-known for her role as Jenna Maroney in NBC's “30 Rock” — a gig for which she was Emmy-nominated four times in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series category.
“Dead Boss” is a project from Warner Bros./Kapital Entertainment, written and executive produced by Patricia Breen. Aaron Kaplan, Sharon Horgan, Holly Walsh will executive produce as well.
Based on the British series, “Dead Boss” is a comedic mystery that finds ambitious, driven, career-focused Helen Stephens (Krakowski) wrongfully convicted of murdering her boss. Innocent of the crime and with work piling up on her desk, she is stunned by the guilty verdict — but remains optimistic that the whole mess will be straightened out shortly.
In the interim, Helen must rely on her train wreck sister to prove her innocence.
The “Dead Boss” pilot was ordered by Fox in January.
