Jason Bateman-Produced Comedy Pilot Ordered by NBC

The single-camera comedy focuses on two best friends and the struggles of dating

NBC has ordered a comedy pilot executive produced by Jason Bateman, along with Aggregate and David Janollari Entertainment.

“Two to Go” is described as a single-camera comedy focusing on long-time best friends grappling with the challenges of modern-day dating, while their group of friends try to convince them they are meant for each other.

The project is co-executive produced by Bryan Shukoff and Kevin Chesley. Bateman is joined as a non-writing EP by Jim Garavent and David Janollari. Universal Television is the studio.

Bateman, who recently reprised his role as Michael Bluth in “Arrested Development” on Netflix, released the R-rated indie comedy “Bad Words” in 2013 and is currently filming the sequel to 2011’s “Horrible Bosses.”

Casting for the NBC project has yet to be announced.

“Two to Go” joins 13 other comedy pilots in contention at NBC, including a gay-straight buddy comedy from Ellen DeGeneres’ production company; an adaptation of 1986 film “The Money Pit”; Rob Lowe starrer “The Pro”; “Mission Control,” an astronaut comedy from Will Ferrell and “Parenthood” writer Jason Katims; “Love Is Relative” from “Roseanne” and “That ’70s Show”” executive producer Tom Werner; “Mason Twins” from “Happy Endings” alum Casey Wilson and June Raphael; “A to Z” from Rashida Jones and Will McCormack’s production company, Le Train Train; and Kate Walsh starrer “Bad Judge,” among others.
