Jelani Johnson Returns to CAA as Motion Picture Literary Agent

Former CAA intern’s hard work at Generate and The Mission Entertainment brought him back into the fold

Jelani Johnson has returned to CAA as an agent in the motion picture literary department, it was announced Wednesday.

Johnson is a former CAA intern who went on to become a manager at Generate before becoming a founding partner of The Mission Entertainment, a management and production company that focuses on representing diverse content creators.

Johnson is a savvy and motivated dealmaker who has given his time to the HollyShorts Film Festival as a jury member and panelist. He’s a solid addition to CAA in the wake of a group defection to UTA earlier this year.

The up-and-coming young agent will be based in CAA’s Los Angeles office.

CAA recently signed “Concussion” director Peter Landesman, “The Tribe” director Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy and comedian Yousef Saleh Erakat, aka FouseyTube.
