Jennifer Lawrence Was Up for Emma Stone’s Part in ‘Easy A’ and Didn’t Get It: ‘You Suck!’

“I wanted it so bad,” Lawrence says of losing role to Stone

Who wants to be Olive Penderghast, anyway? Oh, Jennifer Lawrence, that’s who.

While Emma Stone totally killed it in her breakout role as a modern day version of the “Scarlett Letter”‘s Hester Prynne in 2010’s “Easy A,” Lawrence also auditioned for the role.

Luckily (?), Stone was the one who snagged it. But J-Law seems to still be a little bitter about the whole thing.

Lawrence revealed during The Hollywood Reporter‘s yearly actress roundtable, that she “wanted it so bad.” But, alas, the movie just wasn’t in the cards for the young actress, who went on to star in the “Hunger Games” franchise.

However, Stone’s reasoning for why Lawrence didn’t get it is, well, stone-cold.

“Well, guess what?” Stone, who was sitting next to Lawrence, and had brought up her film to begin with, said. “You didn’t get it. You didn’t get it because you suck!”

Lawrence then jokingly suggested they take this argument outside at the end of the roundtable.

So, we guess we will never know how Lawrence would have performed in “Easy A,” or how that fight could have gone down.
