Jennifer Lawrence plays a wife who learns about the risks of putting metal in a microwave the hard way in a new clip from David O. Russell’s upcoming drama, “American Hustle.”
Lawrence — who will return to theaters next weekend as Katniss Everdeen in “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” — plays Christian Bale‘s bitter wife, and is none too pleased with him when he doesn’t want to buy another “science oven” after the minor domestic disaster.

Lawrence’s “Silver Linings Playbook” co-star Bradley Cooper has a major role in the ’70s-set ensemble as an FBI agent who enlists Bale — a conman — and his partner in crime, Amy Adams, to help the feds scam a corrupt mayor (Jeremy Renner).
“American Hustle” hits theaters on Dec. 18.
