‘Jersey Shore’s’ The Situation Lands Development Deal With MTV

Industrious “Jersey Shore” star puts another feather in his entrepreneurial cap

Mike Sorrentino has a bigger situation on his hands, thanks to a new deal with MTV.

The network confirmed to TheWrap that the "Jersey Shore" charmer has signed a development deal with MTV.

Though details are scant, it's expected that the deal will yield a pilot presentation next year — and if Sorrentino is being paid by the ab, he'll no doubt be raking in a bundle.

Sorrentino has proven to be one of the more entrepreneurial cast members of "Jersey Shore" (and if his colleague Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's hefty campus-appearance fee is any indication, that's a pretty competitive field).

Thanks to various endorsement deals, appearance fees, and other ventures, Sorrentino — who appeared on "Dancing With the Stars" last season — earned an estimated $5 million in 2010.

News of Sorrentino's development deal was first reported by Variety.
