Jesus Is Back on the Big Screen in ‘Son of God’ Trailer (Video)

The film from the producers of cable TV’s “The Bible” hits theaters on Feb. 28, five days before Ash Wednesday

After raking in huge ratings for the History Channel earlier this year, Jesus will be taking his miracles to the big screen in “Son of God,” which is basically a condensed version of the 10-hour miniseries “The Bible,” with a few extra scenes not included in the telecast.

The first trailer for the film shows Jesus of Nazareth (Diogo Morgado) performing a variety of miracles, including his biggest hits like healing the sick and walking on water, as well as helping his disciple Peter catch a whole bunch of fish. Then he gets sold out by Judas, and the rest is history.

The movie version of the miniseries Mark Burnett and Roma Downey produced tracks Jesus’ life from birth to death, to resurrection — all to a rich orchestral score from Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer.

Greg Hicks, Adrian Schiller, Darwin Shaw, Sebastian Knapp, Joe Wredden, Simon Kunz, Paul Marc Davis, Matthew Gravelle, Amber Rose Revah and Roma Downey co-star in the biblical epic directed by Christopher Spencer.
