‘Jesus’ on Rick Perry: He’s an Imbecile! (Video)

The Son of God — well, a comic actor, anyway — responds to Texas governor's divisive message

Oh, lord — what have you gotten yourself into now, Rick Perry?

The Texas governor and GOP presidential candidate made plenty of tempers flare with his "war on religion" campaign ad — in which he opined, "You don't have to be in the pew every Sunday to know that there's something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school."

One of those who were put off by Perry's divisive message? The Man himself, Jesus Christ — or at least actor D.C. Pierson, made up to look like the Son of God.

Echoing the language in Perry's ad, Pierson — known to "Community" fans as Mark Millot — offers, "You don't have to be in the pew every Sunday to know that there's something wrong in this country when Rick Perry is openly running for President."

From there, Pierson-as-Christ asks, "What have gays in the military ever done to Rick Perry besides keeping him safe while he executed the mentally retarded?"

Pierson wraps up the ad with the chestnut, "Faith made America strong, but it made Rick Perry a complete imbecile. I'm Jesus Christ, and I approve this message."

Well said, good sir — but can you rock a "Brokeback Mountain" jacket with the same manly flair as Perry?

Watch D.C./J.C. make his case in the video.
