JetBlue Flight Attendant Steve Slater: Today’s Cover Boy

All of the major New York newspapers — with the exception of the Wall Street Journal — sat Slater on their front pages on Tuesday

Steven Slater — the JetBlue flight attendant who quit his job Monday by telling off passengers in an expletive-laced rant, grabbing two beers and sliding off the plane via the inflatable emergency chute at New York’s J.F.K. airport — is the talk of the town in New York.

All of the major New York newspapers — with the exception of the Wall Street Journal — sat Slater on their front pages on Tuesday.

He’s being characterized as something of a folk hero — albeit a "planely" nuts one. (According to the Village Voice, Slater — who was has been charged with criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, and trespassing — was arrested “while he was having sex” at his home in Belle Harbor, Queens.)

Slater’s outburst was the perfect antidote for tabloids looking for fodder during the dog days of August.
