Jimmy Fallon Honoring, Hosting Pearl Jam for Special 'Late Night' Week

Monday through Wednesday will be tributes, Thursday and Friday will be exclusive Pearl Jam performances

Move over, Roots — a new band will be getting some love on “Late Night” later this month.

Jimmy Fallon will honor Pearl Jam each day for a week on “Late Night.”

The week-long celebration begins Oct. 21 following the release of the band’s new album, “Lightning Bolt.” Each night, the show’s musical guest will perform a selected song from the band’s discography.

For Monday, Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell will perform “Footsteps” with the Avett Brothers. Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold will give his first television performance in nearly two years when he covers “Corduroy” on Tuesday. Wednesday night, Dierks Bentley will be joined by Pearl Jam lead guitarist Mike McCready and The Roots on an undisclosed song.

Then the big dogs themselves come out to play.

Pearl Jam will close out the week with “Late Night” performances on Thursday and Friday. These will be Pearl Jam's only television appearances in conjunction with the new album.

The band has not appeared on network television since a two-night stand on “Late Night” in Sept. 2011 in support of the film and book “Pearl Jam 20.”

“Lightning Bolt” hits shelved Oct. 15.
