Jimmy Kimmel Outs SXSW’s Biggest Posers With ‘Lie Witness News’ Music Segment (Video)

“What the F–k, Bruce Jenner?,” “DJ Costco” and “Willie Neslon Mandela” aren’t real artists, but that didn’t stop strangers on the street from saying they like them

“Poser” is defined as a person who acts in an affected manner in order to impress others, and Jimmy Kimmel proved on Thursday that the South by Southwest music festival is full of them.

In a special Austin edition of “Lie Witness News” — a segment usually reserved for strangers outside his Hollywood Blvd. studio — Kimmel asked music fans about their opinions and bands and artists that don’t exist, including “What the F–k, Bruce Jenner?,” “DJ Costco” and “Willie Neslon Mandela.”

In no surprise, people attending the festival were quick to pretend that they were fans of said fake artist, or made up a reason why they didn’t like them. But either way, they totally knew who they were.

One gentleman said he was very excited to see Daenerys Targaryen and the Dragon Ponies, which might be an obvious “Game of Thrones” reference to some, but to him, it was just another opportunity to “mix in with any type of music.”

He was also impressed by King Joffrey’s album, “Watch the Iron Throne” and thinks Jamie Lannister and his sister’s music is “going to send a wave through America.”
