JJ Abrams Lauds Stephen King’s Storytelling in ‘11.22.63’ Bonus Feature (Exclusive Video)

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” director glows: “He’s someone who gets you thinking about the ‘What if?'”

J.J. Abrams heaped praise onto fellow “11.22.63” executive producer Stephen King during a bonus feature interview for the Hulu adaptation’s upcoming digital release.

In the above clip, which is exclusive to TheWrap, Abrams opines: “The thing that makes Stephen King stories so unbelievably compelling — beside the fact that he knows how to tell a story so brilliantly — is that he’s someone who gets you thinking about the ‘What if?’”

“That to me is always the best possible story,” Abrams continued. “He just takes life as we know it and turns it in a way that no one else can.”

The Hulu miniseries starring James Franco and Chris Cooper was an adaptation of King’s fantasy novel of the same name that followed a man traveling back in time to attempt to stop the John F. Kennedy assassination.

The “11.22.63” digital release comes out on Friday, then hits Blu-ray, DVD, and digital HD formats on Aug. 9
