Joan Rivers is blowing up on camera again, but this time her ire is directed toward Palestine and its supporters.
“If New Jersey were firing rockets into New York, we would wipe ‘em out,” she told cameras outside of Los Angeles International Airport after being asked about escalating violence in Gaza. “I don’t want to hear anymore, ‘Oh, we’ll do a partial truce.’ The Palestinians — they cannot throw rockets and expect people not to defend themselves.”
According to a recent New York Times report, over 750 people have been killed in less than three weeks as a result of the conflict, and most of the dead are Palestinian citizens. Rivers was asked about the non-combatant causalities, but didn’t appear overly sympathetic.
“Don’t put your goddamn things in private homes,” she added, referring to reports that Palestinians have been purposely hiding weapons caches in schools and homes. “I’m sorry, don’t you dare put weapons stashes in private homes, and then we say ‘get out,’ of course we’re going to do it.
“They started it,” the comedienne continued. “You’re all insane. They started it! What are you all saying? They started it! For months this has been going on! How do I know? I have been over there, that’s how I know. And I wish the world would know. BBC should be ashamed of themselves, and CNN should be ashamed of themselves.”
It’s unsurprising Rivers called out the latter cable news network — considering she stormed out of a CNN interview in early July because of the “accusatory” questions Fredricka Whitfield was lobbing her way.
“Oh, Selena Gomez,” Rivers said sarcastically. “Oh yeah, that college grad. Oh, well, if Selena said that…”
