Drupal Developer
TheWrap, based in West Los Angeles, is seeking a full-time technology manager. This is a key role for this high-profile company in the entertainment news arena. While excellent programming skills are critical for this position, as a member of a small development team you will also be responsible for providing guidance to senior management on site architecture, design, enhancements, features, and technology. You need to be current with emerging technologies, understand how they can support the company’s mission, and have the technical ability to implement them.

Responsibilities

• Continuously evaluate company web sites and other digital products for ways to enhance front- and back-end user experience, audience engagement, social interaction, and usability.

• Prototype, design, develop, test, and launch new products and features.

• Work with our ad sales team to develop new products and enhancements to strengthen our ad offerings and troubleshoot ad creative and serving when necessary.

• Work with our editorial team to develop enhancements to our content management system and troubleshoot problems.

• Develop in PHP and Drupal using the Drupal Hook System, create new modules, and work on existing custom modules; create MySQL DB Schema

Skills/Technologies

• PHP, SQL(MySQL), HTML, W3C recommendations, SSH, Linux, Drupal, Regex, and Git, JQuery, RSS feeds, XML

• Experience using Web API calls and Web services

• Database design and optimization experience

• Frontend Design using XHTML/CSS/CSS3/Javascript; Photoshop

Education/Experience

• BS/BA or higher in Computer Science or related field

• 2 years demonstrable experience in web development or related field
