“Lethal Weapon” producer Joel Silver’s assistant, Carmel Musgrove, died while on vacation with the producer, his family and several other Silver Pictures employees in Bora Bora on Thursday. She was 28 years old.

In addition to working as Silver’s assistant, Musgrove also served as the associate producer on two Silver Pictures productions according to her IMDB page. She reportedly drowned, but that is unconfirmed pending the results of an autopsy.

“Joel Silver, his family and his staff are devastated by the passing of Carmel Musgrove,” a representative for Silver Pictures told TheWrap. “Carmel was a dear friend and respected colleague with a very bright future ahead of her. They will all miss her dearly.”

Musgrove previously worked as an intern for Silver Pictures before being brought on full-time to work as Silver’s assistant, a position she held for the past three years.

Silver recently partnered with Canadian entrepreneur Daryl Katz to create Silver Pictures Entertainment, a new company that will develop, produce and provide or arrange financing for its own slate of feature films, television and digital projects.

Silver, 63, was on the island to celebrate Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s Aug. 5 wedding, according to Usmagazine.com.
