John Mayer was hospitalized for an emergency appendectomy on Tuesday, forcing his band Dead & Company to postponed a scheduled show.
“Early this morning, Tuesday, December 5th, John Mayer was admitted into the hospital for emergency appendectomy forcing the Dead & Company December 5th concert in New Orleans to be postponed,” the band shared on Twitter.
The band has two other shows scheduled this week — on Thursday in Orlando, Florida and on Friday in Sunrise, Florida. No decisions have been announced about those two shows, the band’s final two of the year.
Founded in 2015, Dead & Company is a touring band made up of Mayer and former Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann, along with Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti.
