John Podesta fired back at “whack job” Donald Trump after the president tweeted on Friday that “everyone” is talking about the former Hillary Clinton campaign chairman at the G20 Summit in Germany.
“Get a grip man, the Russians committed a crime when they stole my emails to help get you elected,” Podesta tweeted in response.
Earlier on Friday, Trump took to Twitter to rip the media, thank his haters and mock Podesta before a highly anticipated encounter with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“Dude, get your head in the game. You’re representing the US at the G20,” Podesta wrote in a series of responses.
On the eve of his first meeting with Putin, Trump tweeted an allegation that “John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and the CIA. Disgraceful!”
Podesta, who does not work for the DNC, had several private emails land on WikiLeaks during the campaign thanks to Russia-backed hackers in a coordinated attempt to disrupt the U.S. election that is still under investigation by U.S. law enforcement agencies.
Podesta said he was on a road trip with his wife when he saw “whack job” Trump was tweeting about him. “God only knows what you’ll be raving about on twitter by the time we get to Utah,” Podesta wrote.
