John Landgraf, formerly the president and general manager of FX Networks and FX Productions, has been promoted to chief executive officer of both entities.
The announcement was made Tuesday by Fox Networks Group chairman and CEO Peter Rice, to whom Landgraf will continue to report.
Under his new position, Landgraf will oversee all aspects of entertainment and business operations for FX Networks, a stable that will continue to grow with the upcoming launch of FXX. Landgraf will also oversee FX Productions, which was started by Landgraf and produces or co-produces a number of FX series, including "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," "The Americans" and "Sons of Anarchy."
He'll also be responsible for FXNOW, FX Networks' digital video-on-demand platform.
Landgraf came aboard FX in 2004 as president of entertainment and was made president and general manager of FX Networks the following year. Prior to starting with FX, Landgraf was president of Jersey Television, which he co-founded, and also served as vice president of primetime series for NBC from 1994 to 1999.
