Jon Stewart Agrees Republicans Are ‘the Stupid Party’ (Video)

"Daily Show" host and Republican governor agree

Jon Stewart agrees with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal that Republicans need to "stop being the stupid party" — but sounds a little skeptical about how they can change.

Jindal delivered the "stupid party" advice to fellow Republicans two weeks ago in a Republican National Committee speech. Stewart seized on it on "The Daily Show" Tuesday, saying Republicans would need to "actually change the way you are rather than just the description of the way you are."

"Instead of coming up with messaging to convince people that you don't believe women's vaginas have built-in defense systems that repel ill-gotten sperm, what you could try is not believing that women's vaginas have that capability," Stewart said, mocking comments about "legitimate rape" made by failed Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin during last year's campaign.

But Jindal didn't sound particularly happy about Akin's comments either. Immediately after his line about the "stupid party," he added: "It’s time for a new Republican Party that talks like adults. We had a number of Republicans damage the brand this year with offensive and bizarre comments. I’m here to say we’ve had enough of that.”

See? Kind of sounds like everyone agrees.
