The upshot is that the success of their oratory means that they can’t actually take action on all their corrective threats, which Jon Stewart pointed out with exhausted disgust on Thursday night, declaring, “all this talk of tyranny is bullshit.”

“When your main concern when you’re deposing a tyrant is how it will affect your party’s chances in the upcoming midterm elections,” Stewart pointed out, “that’s not tyranny.”
