Jon Stewart Woos Angelina Jolie Imagining Life Without Brad Pitt: We Could’ve Been ‘Stolie’ (Video)

The host and the “Unbroken” director first met while co-starring in a 1998 film called “Playing by Heart”

Jon Stewart and Angelina Jolie imagined what could have been when the actress-turned-director appeared on “The Daily Show” on Thursday.

“You know, if you had ended up with me instead of Brad Pitt our portmanteau, Stewart-Jolie, would’ve been Stolie. We could’ve been a vodka brand,” Stewart joked. “I’m just saying. That’s my last pitch.”

Stewart praised “Unbroken,” Jolie’s World War II drama telling former Olympian Louis Zamperini’s incredible life story, and her talent, in general.

“Congratulations on everything. I gotta tell you, from the moment I met you — I don’t know, it’s gotta be 20 years ago on the set — I always thought, ‘This person has talent coming out of all different areas,’” Stewart said of his “Playing by Heart” co-star.

“I don’t mean it in that way. You know what I mean. You just meet certain people and you just go, ‘This person embodies just something different, special.’ I’ve always thought that about you,” he said.

Jolie returned the compliment, and proceeded to make Stewart’s day when she informed him that she watches “The Daily Show” with her husband, who is sometimes topless, wearing just pajama pants.

“Yeah, that feels right,” Stewart added.

“Unbroken,” a film written by the Coen brothers based on the bestselling book by  Laura Hillenbrand, hits theaters on Christmas Day.
