HBO has released a new short trailer for its upcoming San Francisco-set gay series, “Looking.”

The 30-second tease features star Jonathan Groff (“Glee”) knocking Southern California as he discusses his life outside of work.

“What’s wrong with having a life outside of work? This is San Francisco, that’s why I live here,” Groff tells his co-star, Murray Bartlett. “If I didn’t want to have a life, I’d more to LA.”

The title pretty accurately describes the premise on multiple levels: Groff is in the process of looking for a roommate and looking for someone who understands him, while other characters appear to be looking for solutions to their own problems.

The new show that airs after “Girls” premieres on Jan. 19.
