"Glee" star Jonathan Groff is in over his head while working at an apple farm in Oregon in the first trailer for "C.O.G.," an adaptation of a short story by author David Sedaris.
Writer and director Kyle Patrick Alvarez ("Easier with Practice") is the first filmmaker to adapt Sedaris' uniquely dry and wry wit. And according to TheWrap's Alonso Duralde, who reviewed the film at Sundance, he "nails" it.

The autobiographical comedy follows Groff as a grad student (named David, of course) who plans a summer in the Northwest with his friend. When his friend bails, Groff ends up alone in a strange place full of strangers who don't quite get the young man's point of view.
God appears to play a major role in the film. While Groff initially dismisses the concept as something "meant for people who aren't smart enough to know how the world really works," the trailer suggests he may re-think his position on spirituality by the time the credits roll.
Troian Bellisario ("Pretty Little Liars"), Denis O'Hare ("American Horror Story") and Corey Stoll ("House of Cards") co-star in the indie Focus World is releasing in theaters on Sept. 20.
