#JonVoyage: Jon Stewart’s Final ‘Daily Show’ Floods Social Media With Sadness, Gratitude

Barack Obama, Olivia Munn and Ed Helms join chorus marking the end of the host’s 16-year run

As Jon Stewart’s time as host of “The Daily Show” comes to an end, the tributes are pouring in on social media.

Among those who’ve wished Stewart a #JonVoyage on Twitter are President Barack Obama, fellow Comedy Central host Chris Hardwick, and a slew of current and former “Daily Show” correspondents, including Olivia Munn, Al Madrigal and Ed Helms.

Stewart’s 16-year tenure as host of the satirical news show is being hailed as “inspirational” and “incredible,” leaving many sad to see him go. “Can’t decide what’s worse, Jon leaving @TheDailyShow or global warming,” Helms wrote on Twitter.

“Congrats on 2,676 episodes of television Jon Stewart. Incredible run. #JonVoyage,” wrote comedian Hannibal Buress.

Even the politicians who often found themselves the butt of Stewart’s jokes have commemorated his final show. Perhaps none better than Republican U.S. Senator John McCain: “To my old interrogator Jon Stewart: So long, jackass!” he wrote.
