Judge Rules Bob Weinstein Not a Threat to Wife Anna

Court rejects claim by Anna Weinstein, who has filed for divorce from Bob Weinstein, that he poses a threat of “bodily harm” to her

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Ellen Gesmer rejected Anna Weinstein’s request for an order of protection against her husband Bob Weinstein, according to a report in the New York Daily News.

The Weinsteins are in the midst of divorce proceedings and, in a filing last week, Anna expressed fear for her safety. She said her husband, co-founder and CEO with his brother Harvey of the Weinstein Co, poses a threat of “bodily harm.”

Bob then issued a statement through his "interventionist,” who said his wife was reacting to a family effort to get her to deal with a drinking problem.

“I can categorically state that there was no abuse. Any claim of abuse is irresponsible and frivolous,” said the interventionist, Don Sloane, who said he has 27 years of experience “in conducting interventions for alcoholism and addition.”

The judge has agreed with Bob on this count, with more court battles likely ahead.
