Justin Bieber’s Bail Set at $2,500 in Nationally Televised Bond Hearing

Bieber briefly appeared before a Dade County judge in his orange jumpsuit via video — and CNN aired it

Justin Bieber‘s bail was set at $2,500 before a national TV audience on Thursday, as the orange-jumpsuit-clad pop star glumly stood before a judge via a video link that aired on CNN.

Bieber slinked offscreen without comment after the judge read the charges and set his bond.

The 19-year-old pop star,  whose Christmas Day documentary “Believe” tanked at the box office with a $2 million open, was pulled over early Thursday morning for drag racing a yellow Lamborghini in Miami. Officers said he had red, bloodshot eyes and that cops detected a strong alcohol odor in his car.

He told cops that he smoked marijuana, drank alcohol and consumed prescription medication before his arrest for driving under the influence, Miami Beach Police Chief Raymond Martinez said at a press conference. Bieber, also charged with driving with an expired license and resisting arrest without violence, was booked at the Miami-Dade County Jail. He’ll be free once he posts the $2,500 bond.

A spokesman for the 19-year old, who is also facing a vandalism probe in California stemming from claims he may have been involved in egging a neighbor’s house, declined to comment.
