Kate Walsh’s ‘Bad Judge’ Comedy Picked Up to Series by NBC

“Private Practice” vet will play a jurist by day, party animal by night

All rise for the honorable — or perhaps not so honorable — Kate Walsh.

NBC has given a series order to the single-camera comedy “Bad Judge,” starring the “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Private Practice” veteran.

Walsh will star as wild child Rebecca Wright, who knows how to have a good time, but also happens to be one of L.A.’s toughest and most respected criminal court judges.

Wright is described as having a reputation for unorthodox behavior in the courtroom and a penchant for saying what’s on her mind. When the robe comes off, however, she devotes herself to partying.

Oh, and she plays drums in a band with her best friend Jenny.

Wright is reluctant to settle down, but when an eight-year-old boy whose parents she sentenced to jail needs her help, she just might find herself being tamed.

Mather Zickel (“I Love You, Man”) John Ducey (“Jonas”), Tone Bell and Theodore Barnes also star.

Walsh currently appears in FX’s small-screen series adaptation of the Coen Brothers film “Fargo.”

Will Ferrell and Adam McKay are among the executive producers on the comedy, along with Chad Kultgen (“The Incredible Burt Wonderstone”), who wrote the pilot.

Walsh, Anne Heche, Jill Sobel Messick and Kevin Messick are also executive producing. “Bad Judge” is being produced by Universal Television and Gary Sanchez Productions.
