Katherine Heigl Drama ‘State of Affairs’ Loses Showrunner

Katherine Heigl‘s upcoming series “State of Affairs” has had a shakeup.

Ed Bernero has exited the NBC drama because of creative differences, an individual familiar with the situation told TheWrap on Friday.

The exit isn’t related to Heigl, who serves as an executive producer and star on the series, the individual said.

A replacement for Bernero has not yet been chosen, though production is continuing on the series, which is slated for a Nov. 17 premiere.

The series stars “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Heigl as a CIA attaché who counsels the president — played by Alfre Woodard — about high-stakes incidents around the world.

Adam Kaufman, Sheila Vand, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas and Leslie Odom, Jr. also are among the cast.
