Kellyanne Conway found herself in the hot seat on Monday morning, fielding questions from “Good Morning America” co-host George Stephanopoulos and “Today” co-host Matt Lauer about the resignation of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

Flynn’s departure was announced late Monday night following news he had misled Vice President Mike Pence and other senior White House officials about information he shared with the Russian ambassador to the United States.

“In the end, it was misleading the vice president that made the situation unsustainable,” Conway told Lauer, despite the fact that she told MSNBC on Monday afternoon that Flynn enjoyed the full confidence of President Trump.

Lauer asked, “Were you out of the loop on this?”

“No, not at all. Both were true,” Conway said. “[Flynn] knew he had become a lightening rod and he made that decision.”

After Conway tried to talk her way out of the situation, Lauer eventually fired back, “Kellyanne, that makes no sense.”

Meanwhile, Conway also appeared on “GMA,” where Stephanopoulos grilled her on the same topic, asking, “Do you know if the president was told three weeks ago when Sally Yates told the White House counsel that General Flynn had been compromised? Do you know if the president was told that?”

“I do not know that,” Conway answered before Stephanopoulos fired back, “Do you know if the vice president was told that?”

Conway again answered, “I do not know that.”
