Kevin Goetz Leaves OTX to Launch Research Firm

Screen Engine will offer research, marketing and consulting to movie industry

Longtime OTX operative Kevin Goetz is leaving the company to start a new research, marketing and consulting firm, Screen Engine LLC.
The new firm will conduct screening research, exit polling and qualitative analysis for the motion picture industry. The company will also provide a suite of custom research and marketing products.
"It was just that right time for me to venture out on my own on a cliff and do my own thing," Goetz told TheWrap. "I’m looking to use what people depend on me for in a little more of a boutique environment. And I’ve always had the dream of starting my own business and working in a very hands-on way with the studios and with filmmakers."
A 23-year veteran of the movie research business, Goetz is widely known as a moderator of Hollywood focus groups and for his interpretation of test data.

Previously serving as president of the motion picture group for consumer market research firm OTX, Goetz was once cited in the Los Angeles Times’ list of "Southern California’s 100 Most Powerful and Influential People."
Goetz is currently in the process of staffing up his firm, which will be based on Wilshire Blvd. in Beverly Hills.
