Comedian Kevin Hart to Host BET Awards

The funnyman also stars in Fox’s upcoming sitcom “Little in Common”

Popular comedian Kevin Hart will host this year's BET Awards, the cable network announced Tuesday.

"When we asked folks who should host this year's BET Awards online, in the streets, among other celebs and throughout social media, one name came back to us loud and clear: Kevin Hart," said Stephen Hill, BET's president of music programming and specials, in a statement.

Hart's highly successful "Laugh at My Pain" stand-up tour has turned him into a hot commodity in Hollywood. He's set to star in two movies: "Think Like a Man," based on Steve Harvey's best-selling 2009 book "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man"; and Nick Stoller's "Five Year Engagement," which is produced by Judd Apatow.

Additonally, he is one of the stars, alongside Rob Corrdry, of Fox's upcoming sitcom "Little in Common," which is being considered for a midseason bow.
