Kiefer Sutherland Takes Lead in Fox’s ‘Touch’

Actor will play father who discovers son can predict the future

In the biggest signing of pilot season, "24" star Kiefer Sutherland will return to television with the lead in Fox's "Touch," the network said Tuesday.

The pilot, from "Heroes" creator Tim Kring, is about a father (Sutherland) who learns that his mute, autistic son can predict the future. Produced by 20th Century Fox TV and Chernin Entertainment, the show is Kring's first since "Heroes."

Sutherland played "24" CTU agent Jack Bauer on Fox from 2001-10, earning an Emmy in 2006.

One wrinkle? Sutherland started previews earlier this month in the Broadway revival of "That Championship Season." The show would likely conflict with filming.
