AMC's "The Killing" has been renewed for a second season, the network said Monday. The first season concludes this Sunday and is expected to resolve the central question of the show so far: "Who killed Rosie Larsen?"

The resolution of the first season's mystery would mean a new crime next time out — and that beleaguered Det. Sarah Linden will have to delay, yet again, her plans to start a new life in California. We have a feeling she may even have to give up on them entirely.
The renewal means four out of five AMC shows have outlasted their first season since the network resumed dramatic original series with "Mad Men" in 2007. "Rubicon" is the sole show the network has canceled.

Like "Rubicon," "The Killing" has a sometimes slow pace and a level of detail that challenges viewers — even as it rewards those with good attention spans.
