Kim Kardashian Lands Recurring Role on ‘Drop Dead Diva’

Reality star will appear in multi-episode arc beginning with this summer’s season 4 premiere

Kim Kardashian is continuing to expand beyond her reality-TV roots and flesh out her acting resume.

The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star has scored a recurring role on the Lifetime dramedy "Drop Dead Diva," in a multi-episode arc that will begin with the series' upcoming season four premiere, which is scheduled to premiere this summer.

Kardashian will play Nikki, who becomes both a love interest to guardian angel Fred (played by Ben Feldman) and, perhaps awkwardly, a new business partner to Fred's former flame, Stacy.

"I'm ecstatic to welcome Kim to the Diva family,” series creator and executive producer Josh Berman said of the casting. “In discussing the role of Nikki with her, I'm blown away by her smarts, sense of humor, and passion. This series is all about reinvention and I'm so excited to see Kim ‘reinvented’ in the world of ‘Drop Dead Diva.’”

Kardashian, 31, has been slowly but steadily building her acting career. The reality TV sensation appeared in several episodes of the drama "Beyond the Break" in 2009, the same year she landed a guest role on "CSI: NY." She also has a substantial role in the upcoming Tyler Perry movie "The Marriage Counselor."

Launched in 2009, "Drop Dead Diva" revolves around a shallow, aspiring model who dies in a sudden accident, only to find her soul resurfacing in the body of a brilliant, thoughtful and plus-size attorney.
