Kimmel ‘Game’ for NBA Finals

Late-night host again bounces into primetime with “Game Night” specials

“Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night” returns as half-hour primetime shows throughout the NBA Finals starting June 3 on ABC.

Kimmel previously did primetime specials during the 2009 and 2008 NBA Finals, with guests including President Barack Obama, David Beckham, Denzel Washington, Adam Sandler and basketball great Earvin "Magic" Johnson.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night” will feature the NBA’s biggest stars, including 2009 NBA Finals MVP Kobe Bryant, 2009 NBA MVP LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, along with some of Hollywood’s biggest basketball fans.

The specials are scheduled to air June 3 at 8 p.m. (all times ET/CT), June 6 at 7 p.m., June 8 at 8 p.m., June 10 at 8 p.m. and, if necessary, June 13 at 7 p.m., June 15 at 8 p.m. and June 17 at 8 p.m.

On average, ABC’s 2009 “Jimmy Kimmel Live: Game Night” specials were up over the prior year’s by 7% in total viewers (3.2 million vs. 3.0 million) and 10% in adults 18-49 (1.1/4 vs. 1.0/3).

Jimmy Kimmel and Jill Leiderman are executive producers and Jason Schrift and Douglas DeLuca are co-executive producers of the talk show, which is produced by Jackhole Industries in association with ABC Studios.
