Lady Gaga to Mentor ‘American Idol’ Top 4

“Born This Way” singer will teach the remaining “Idol” aspirants about the art of freaky showmanship

The remaining finalists on this season's "American Idol" will be going Gaga next Wednesday.

Fox said on Thursday that "Born This Way" chanteuse Lady Gaga will mentor "Idol"'s Top 4 on the May 11 performance episode. The remaining contestants will perform selections from the songbook of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, composers of classics such as "Hound Dog," "Stand by Me" and "Love Potion No. 9," on the episode.

Following Thursday's ouster of Jacob Lusk, the Final 4 consists of Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Scotty McCreery and Haley Reinhart — the latter of whom, perhaps coincidentally, performed the unreleased Gaga track "You and I" on Wednesday night's episode.

Gaga is no stranger to the "Idol" stage; the flamboyant singer performed her hit "Poker Face" on the show in 2009, and followed up by singing "Alejandro" on the show last May. See the latter performance in the video. (The remaining aspiring Idols might want to watch, too; a little advance research might give them an edge next week.)
