Laverne Cox ‘Blown Away’ by 9-Year-Old Singer on ‘America’s Got Talent’ (Video)

Young talent is named after Celine Dion and sounds like her too

“Orange Is the New Black” star Laverne Cox was so “blown away” by a performance by 9-year-old Celine Tam on Tuesday’s episode of “America’s Got Talent,” she just had to press the Golden Buzzer.

Tam — she’s named Celine, and her little sister is named Dion, both after the famous singer — first stunned audiences with her rendition of “My Heart Will Go On” on a previous episode. On Tuesday, she wanted to sing a different tune.

“Well today, I’m not singing a Celine Dion song — I’m singing ‘How Am I Supposed to Live Without You?’” Tam explained.

The judges, who included Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell and guest judge Cox, were skeptical, but Tam killed it instantly and the judges couldn’t do anything but smile.

“Celine, the crowd is going crazy for you,” Klum said.

“I just want to eat you up and take you home, you are so adorable and so cute and your voice is amazing,” Cox said. “I am really blown away! You are so talented. I might just have to…”

Before Cox could even finish her sentence, she pressed the Golden Buzzer, much to the surprise of Tam, who couldn’t believe she’s guaranteed to move on to the live rounds and is one step closer to achieving her dream.
