“Lincoln” and “Life of Pi” got nice bumps at the box office on Thanksgiving Day, as “Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” and “Skyfall” led the way and moviegoer flocked to the cineplexes at a record pace.
Summit Entertainment’s “Twilight” franchise finale took in an estimated $8 million Thursday and is on track for a $62 million total for the five days. Its overall domestic gross now stands at $225 million.
Sony’s James Bond thriller added $7.6 million to up its overall domestic gross to $185 million, and is looking at $48 million over the long weekend.

DreamWorks’ Oscar front-runner "Lincoln" added $4.7 million, a 13 percent increase from Wednesday, and is on track for a five-day total of $30 million.
Ang Lee’s lyrical epic “Life of Pi” jumped 22 percent to $4.7 million in its second day Thursday and is looking at more than $28 million for the five days for Fox.
Most Thursday grosses were down a bit from Wednesday, but Friday is expected to be bigger and set the stage for what could be a record-breaking weekend for the overall box office. The best Thanksgiving weekend to date is 2009’s $258.6 million.
DreamWorks Animation’s “Rise of the Guardians” took in $7.5 million in its second day and is on track for a $30.4 million five-day haul. That could well go higher, as Friday and Saturday should be the strongest days for the family-friendly 3D film.
The weekend’s other wide opener, FilmDistrict’s “Red Dawn,” added $3.2 million Thursday and is on pace for $21 million for the five days.
