‘Lilyhammer’ Season 2 Snags Netflix Premiere Date

Mobster comedy will return next month

The second season of the mobster-out-of-water comedy “Lilyhammer” will premiere on Dec. 13 on Netflix, the streaming service said Wednesday.

The series starred “Sopranos” actor and E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt, who, in a radical departure, plays a mob fixer in the witness protection program in Lillehammer, Norway. A lot gets lost in translation as the former wise guy gets used to skis replacing cement shoes.

In Netflix tradition, the entire second season will be released simultaneously. It’s not clear how successful the first season of the show was, because Netflix does not share data about viewership.

The show was developed by Rubicon TV AS, produced by Rubicon, and co-produced by Netflix.
