The series earned its highest rated episode ever with Tuesday's premiere
TLC's “The Little Couple” earned series highs for both total viewers and ratings with Tuesday's return episode.
It earned 3.9 million total viewers and a 3.0 rating with the network's target demographic, women between the ages of 25-54 years old.
The episode was also TLC's highest-rated program with the key demo since November 2012 and its most-watched.
The series also dominated on social media, causing three trending terms on Twitter and becoming the No. 4 most social primetime cable program (excluding sports events).
On Tuesday's one-hour premiere episode, Bill Klein, Jennifer Arnold and their adopted son Will arrived in India to pick up the new addition to their family, daughter Zoey — after more than a year of preparation and 20 hours of traveling.
The excitement of their new daughter was tempered by Arnold's health. She would later be diagnosed with a rare cancer.
On next week's episode, Arnold realizes how ill she is and is forced into making a difficult decision.
“The Little Couple” airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on TLC.
