Locklear Cited for Alleged Hit-and-Run of Parking Sign

The charge could affect her probation from 2008 reckless driving arrest

Heather Locklear, already on probation for allegedly driving under the influence of prescription medications in 2008, was cited over the weekend in connection with a hit-and-run accident involving a single car and a parking sign, TMZ reported.

Locklear’s BMW was found damaged after someone heard a 4 a.m. crash in Westlake Village, where Locklear has a home, law enforcement source told the celebrity gossip site. Police weren’t called until the following evening, when a knocked-over "no parking" sign was found. Deputies saw the damage to her car and cited her for hit and run at her home. She’s due in court May 17.

Locklear is on probation after pleading no contest to reckless driving stemming from a Santa Barbara traffic incident in 2008, in which she was accused of being under the influence of prescription drugs. Prosecutors there tell TMZ that they are looking into the weekend incident as a possible violation.
