‘Longmire’ Renewed by Netflix for Season 5

Series was picked up by the streaming service for Season 4 following cancellation on A&E

Netflix has renewed original series “Longmire” for a fifth season, the streaming service announced Friday.

The renewal was announced on the series’ Facebook page. “We’ve never been one to back down from a fight,” the post read. “Longmire will return to Netflix for Season 5.”

Based on the series of novels by Craig Johnson, the western drama stars Robert Taylor as Wyoming Sheriff Walt Longmire. Lou Diamond Phillips, Katee Sackhoff, Bailey Chase, Cassidy Freeman and Adam Bartley.

The series, which was picked up by Netflix following its cancellation by A&E, debuted it’s 10-episode fourth season last month.

The Shephard/Robin Company produce in association with Warner Horizon Television. Hunt Baldwin, John Coveny, Greer Shephard and Michael M. Robin serve as executive producers.
