Louis C.K.'s do-it-yourself approach continues to pay off.
The comedian — who raked in $1 million late last year by cutting out networks and distributing his comedy special "Live at the Beacon Theater" directly online — has reaped another windfall with his upcoming comedy tour, which cuts out ticket vendors in favor of direct sales.

The comedian announced via his Twitter account Wednesday that, less than two days after putting tickets for the tour on sale, he'd sold 100,000 tickets, translating to more than $4 million in sales.
"well. after 45 hours, my tour has sold 100K tickets, box office gross of 4.5 mil $ (not all mine)," he wrote. "I guess it was a good idea."

Louis C.K. is selling tickets for the tour exclusively through his website, eliminating ticket vendors such as Ticketmaster — and the service charges they tack on.
"Tickets are 45 dollars, every seat, every City," the comedian explained on his website. "That includes all taxes and fees. You don't have to join anything and you don't have to hear from me again unless you want to. Just cheap tickets to see me do an all new bunch of jokes."
The tour kicks off on Oct. 3 at Severance Hall in Cleveland.
In the meantime, his FX series, "Louie," premieres its third season Thursday night at 10:30.
